Kahuzi-Biéga National Park
Stare deeply into the eyes of the majestic lowland mountain gorillas of Congo-Kinshasa's Kahuzi-Biéga National Park. Named after two extinct volcanoes, the park is one of the last remaining habitats of these gentle giants of the forest. Often overlooked in preference to their mountain cousins, the lowland gorillas have suffered terribly as a result of the Congo's long years of civil war. But now that the region has entered a period of relative stability, the area is once more open to PlanetHoppers! who wish to view these amazing creatures in their natural habitat.
