Valley of the Kings
Wander through the winding, sun-drenched landscape of Egypt's Valley of the Kings, the primary burial site of the pharaohs for over 500 years. Located only a short distance from Luxor, it is an easy day trip to the Valley, where you can see the remnants of dozens of tombs, including perhaps the most famous, King Tut's tomb. There is probably no place in all of Egypt where the remnants of the past are not viewed in a sterile museum, so to actually walk among history and see it in the open, is a truly amazing experience. You're guaranteed to never look at a stock-standard museum exhibit the same way again!
