Wander through Marrakesh's central marketplace, Jemaa el-Fnaa, and become entranced by the ideal, fairytale image of a Middle Eastern bazaar. This is one of those special places where tourists can get a clear view of the locals in their natural environment - and where the locals also have a captive market for their various goods. But perhaps the most interesting aspect of the market is the fact that after the stalls and snake-charmers pack up for the day, it transforms itself into one of the largest open air theatres in the Middle East.
