Boma National Park
South Sudan has a number of parks and reserves that have the potential to draw millions as the country establishes itself after recent strife. One of these places is Boma National Park, an important refuge for a large number of birds and animals, including the white-eared kob, tiang, Mongalla gazelle, African buffalo, plains zebra, oryx, cheetah, leopard and giraffes, to name just a few. But perhaps the biggest draw to Boma is that it hosts the second largest migration of animals in the world during the months of May and November, which rivals the one in the Serengeti. Picture the image of a vast landscape filled with thousands and thousands of teeming animals and you'll start to wonder how soon should you make your travel plans?
