Togoville Voodoo Shrines
Follow the origins of the voodoo religion with a visit to Togo's Voodoo Shrines, the traditional home of what is more commonly associated with the West Indies. Located in the town of Togoville, these shrines provide a stark contrast to the large Roman Catholic Cathedral - built by the early German governors - which dominates the town. This is truly a place where two religious worlds collide, but unlike much of the rest of the world, the locals seemingly accept both as part of what makes them uniquely Togon. Maybe we all could stand to learn something from this type of attitude?
