Namibia Quick Travel Guide
With a travel rating of 64%, Namibia is a harsh land comprised of the Skeleton Coast and an equally brutal interior dominated by the wind swept Kalahari Desert. It also the land where the German empire made its biggest mark on the African continent - a mark that is felt to this day in the classically German capital of Windhoek, where you can sample such traditional fare as bratwurst, pretzels and sauerkraut. Namibia also plays host to a variety of natural wonders such as Etosha National Park, where you have just as good of a chance to tally up the Big 5 as anywhere on the continent. But not to be outdone, you can also visit the diverse landscapes of the Fish River Canyon - the second largest canyon in the world - or the shifting sand dunes of Sossusvlei, some of which rise to nearly 400 meters (1400 ft) in height! This is the kind of place where you can encounter the most unorthodox of sites. You could just as easily see an elephant swimming in the ocean or come across a real life ghost town out in the heart of the desert. It is a place that is ripe for memories to last a lifetime.
