Cruise the waters of Hong Kong's Victoria Harbour in a sampan and be transported back to the days of Colonial rule. As one of the city's biggest tourist attractions, the harbour provides spectacular views of the city's skyscrapers. It is also the backdrop for many of the most popular and colorful festivals of the year, including the annual New Year's fireworks display and a laser light show called "A Symphony of Lights." The harbour is also home to most of the port facilities of Hong Kong and one of the busiest in the world. But if you want to escape the urban sprawl of Hong Kong Island, take a ferry across to the other major islands contained within the harbor, including Green Island and Stonecutters Island. No trip to Hong Kong could ever be called complete without a glimpse into this other, more sedate side of the city.
