Pushkar Camel Fair
Prowl the shores of Pushkar Lake as it comes to life for the annual five-day Pushkar Fair, the largest camel fair in the world with up to 25,000 camels exchanged. The camels are washed thoroughly and adorned with various colorful clothing and bells and bangles that jingle as they walk by. Many are entered into competitions, with prizes for the most beautifully decorated camel. There are also a variety of competitions for people as well, such as the longest moustache and cricket matches, countless weddings and, of course, over a 100,000 pilgrims and tourists. Tent cities accommodate a majority of the visitors, though more luxurious accommodations can be found. The fair is arguably one of the most colorful spectacles around, and something you will remember fondly for many years to come.
