Stare in wonder at the awe-inspiring grandeur of Japan's tallest peak Mount Fuji, a mountain that easily ranks up there with the world's greatest for beauty and majesty. But for those who choose to go beyond just admiring its almost perfect symmetry, it's also possible to climb to the summit at 3,776 m (12,389 ft). Visibility tends to be better during the colder seasons and in the early morning or late evening hours. The easiest way to Mount Fuji is by bullet train from Tokyo and Osaka. Mount Fuji is the most climbed mountain in the world, with over 100,000 people trekking to the summit every year. A well-known Japanese saying suggests that anybody would be a fool not to climb Mount Fuji once—but a fool to do so twice. So, if you don't want to be considered a fool, you should get out there and climb it at least once.
