Friendship Highway Journey
Load up the Land Cruiser and take the journey along the highway that links Nepal and China, better known as the Friendship Highway. This is truly an epic journey along one of the most scenic alpine roads in the world, where you can view five of the world's highest peaks, including Mt. Kailash and, of course, Mt. Everest. A good starting point is from Thamel in Katmandu. The roads will start wide and smooth through lush landscapes and eventually give way to narrow, bumpy paths along sheer drops of hundreds of meters far above into the clouds. Some stretches may be nail-biting and stomach churning, because during the course of the journey, the road ascends to an altitude of 5,250 meters (17,225 ft) at its highest point and definitely isn't for the faint of heart. But it's also a journey that you're guaranteed to think about anytime someone mentions the word "roadtrip".
