Take the road less traveled and visit Huế, a city teeming with monuments and architecture often overlooked for Vietnam's more popular destinations. The main attractions in the city are accessible by foot and by boat. Visit Hoi An Old Town, where many streets are off-limit to cars. Walk along Le Loi Street and see many French architectural style buildings, including galleries, churches and cafés. There are also many shops in Hoi An, including those dedicated to tailor-made clothing. Tailors will make you anything that you want, whether it's straight from the pages of a fashion magazine or directly off your back (they only need a few minutes to take your measurements). After a brief foray, you can return and literally pick up your freshly-pressed new clothes. To relax your sore feet, take a boat ride on the Perfume River to see the rest of Huế. You'll pass a myriad of monuments, like the Citadel, and the tomb of several emperors, including the Min Mang Tomb. Stretching into the sky, you will also see the Thiên Mụ Pagoda, the official symbol of Huế and the largest pagoda in Vietnam. These sites and many more will prompt you to hop off the boat and start exploring again!
