Pakistan Quick Travel Guide
With a travel rating of 54%, Pakistan has been at the center of global tensions for some time now, overshadowing the fact that it is one of the most culturally rich and geographically blessed countries in the world. One of its greatest treasures is the lush Hunza Valley, which many believe is the mythical Shangri-La. There is the disputed territory of Kashmir, absolutely pristine, but the epicenter of so much strife with India. There is the UNESCO World Heritage archeological site Mohenjo-daro, one of the world's earliest urban settlements. Magnificent K2, the huge Baltoro Glacier, and the legendary Khyber Pass. Lahore – the City of Gardens – has the Shalimar Gardens. Islamabad has the enormous Faisal Mosque, which can hold over 74,000 people inside and over 200,000 in adjoining grounds. The ancient city of Peshawar has the Gor Huttree Temple. Hyderabad has the ruins of the great Pacco Qillo Fort. We could go on and on... So, despite all of the bad press, Pakistan is worth another consideration. Intrepid PlanetHoppers! who come to explore this land will be amply rewarded.
