Experience bliss in Bonaire when you paddle out to Klein Bonaire (Dutch for "Little Bonaire"), a crescent-shaped uninhabited islet just off the coast. Extremely flat, it rises no more than two meters (~ 6 ft) above the sea, and the only structures on the island are some ruins of old slave huts. There are miles and miles of unspoiled beaches on this 1500 acre island. Surround by terrific reefs, it's also a popular picnic spot and jump off point for stellar dives and snorkels into pristine turquoise waters. The fish in the reef are amazing and it's not uncommon to see barracuda. Two fantastic dives sites include Bonheur de Betsy, which features huge brain corals, and Captain Don's Reef, a haven for sea fans (gorgonian). The little island is so popular in fact, that there have even been bids to purchase it – think Hollywood actors with deep pockets. Make a quick beeline to this tropical little gem, before it's snatched up!
