Aruba Quick Travel Guide
With a travel rating of 48%, Aruba is one of the places that most of us think of first when we contemplate a sun-drenched Caribbean holiday. In many ways it represents the ideal destination for an unforgettable vacation to a land where the sun never stops shining over pure white sand beaches and turquoise bays. But the fact of the matter is that there is diversity to be found here. Aruba is a nature lover's paradise with just as many things to see and do inland as there is along the coast. Topping this list is the incredible Arikok National Park, where you can hike through a variety of ecosystems, spanning lava formations, to bizarre limestone formations (such as Natural Bridge) that have been sculpted by both time and the never-ending pounding of the surf. Then there are the equally impressive California Sand Dunes, which bring to mind the days of the Wild Wild West. Aruba was even home to the Caribbean's very own gold rush in the mid-1800's that drew fortune seekers from around the world. The Gold Mine Ranch will take you on a tour of the Gold Mill Ruins, along with the requisite beach tours on horseback no less. Staying with the equine theme, there are several horse riding ranches, a donkey sanctuary, and even a butterfly farm. Talk about diversity! So as you can see, a trip to Aruba definitely isn't all about the beaches - although with places like De Palm Island, Malmok, Arashi, and Eagle Beaches, this crucial requirement is more than covered. In short, Aruba has enough sites to pull even the most die-hard sun worshipper away for the sand - at least for a short while!
