Cuba Quick Travel Guide
With a travel rating of 72%, Cuba is a travel destination that has few peers in the Caribbean. Regardless of whether you're interested in cultural sites, festivals, natural wonders, or just want to chill out on a beach, Cuba has something for everyone. Unfortunately, due to the political situation and a range of travel restrictions, many have been prevented from enjoying this one-of-a-kind gem. For those fortunate enough to make it to the island, Old Town Havana is a must see. The true heart of the capital, it dates back to the days of Columbus and contains some of the most amazing examples of Colonial architecture to be found anywhere in the Caribbean. Within its confines are landmarks such as Catedral de San Cristóbal, Parque Central, Plaza de Armas, and the Malecón. Beyond Havana, in Santa Clara is the Che Guevara Mausoleum, which houses the remains of the famous Marxist revolutionary. But these only scratch the surface as the wonders of nature are fantastically represented in the form of Valle de Vinales, a place of picture perfect landscapes; Biosphere Reserve of Peninsula de Guanahacabibes, which is the country's largest and arguably most pristine national park; the awesome caverns of Cuveos de Santo Tomas; and the innumerable beaches, such as Playa Paraiso, Playa Pilar, and Playa Esmeralda. It is guaranteed that Cuba will be the ultimate travel destination when the doors are finally flung wide open to everyone. PlanetHoppers! have to be just patient until the political landscape changes... Damn those politicians!
