Museum of the Revolution
Get a first hand account of El Salvador's 12 year civil war with a visit to the Museum of the Revolution, located in the city of Perquín. During a lifetime of travel, most will encounter a variety of museums throughout the world dedicated to war and its horrors. However, few will make such a profound impact as this one, for it is entirely staffed by ex-guerrilla soldiers who fought through some of the darkest days of El Salvador's history. They provide an insight that is both honest and chilling and makes you realize that, in the end, war causes a lot of pain, but offers few solutions. It is a life lesson that transcends travel, but is an important one we can learn while traveling.
