Cross the waters of the Neretva River via the famed Stari Most, a UNESCO-listed bridge located in the Bosnia & Herzegovina city of Mostar. Originally constructed in the 16th century, the bridge was destroyed in 1993 during the Croat-Bosniak War. However, following the war, the bridge was reconstructed to replicate the signature hump-shaped configuration of the original. While what you see today is only a few years old, it, in fact, represents both the cultural value of the original and a memorial to all those who fought and died during the war. It is a monument that is dedicated to the past and is a symbol of peace for the future.
