Soomaa National Park
Tour the battered landscape of Estonia's Soomaa National Park, the home to a series of 9 meteoric craters commonly referred to as the Kalli Crater. This was the only known meteor impact event to have occurred in a populated area and represented a force equal to the Hiroshima nuclear bomb. All of the craters are with 1 kilometer of each other, with the largest measuring over 100 meters (328 ft) in diameter and 22 meters (72 ft) in depth. As you stand in the midst of this battered landscape, you can imagine what it must have been like to have watched massive rocks hurtling from the sky!
