Arrive in style on a steam boat from Stockholm to Drottningholm Palace, home of the Swedish Royal family. A UNESCO World Heritage site located on the beautiful island of Lovön, it's only an hour's ride from the capital. The building is one of the best preserved palaces from the 17th century and simply magnificent to behold. The palace grounds are quite extensive and contain a number of must-see sites, including the Drottningholm Palace Theatre, Baroque and English Gardens, and the Chinese Pavilion, which is also a World Heritage site. After wandering this great location, you're sure to get hungry. See if you can evade the palace guards and come across some Royals. Maybe they'll invite you to lunch... Swedish meatballs, perhaps?
