Bosnia & Herzegovina Quick Travel Guide
With a travel rating of 34%, Bosnia & Herzegovina has gone through some very rough times as a result of the Balkan Wars and civil unrest. However, things have stabilized and peace has finally returned, although you'll still see remnants of the terrible war that nearly tore the country apart in the early 1990's. One such remnant is the famous Stari Most Bridge. On the surface, you may not notice the difference, as it still has its distinct hump-shaped design. But, in fact, this UNESCO-listed structure has actually been totally rebuilt after being destroyed during the war. Something else you'll probably notice is that the influx of PlanetHoppers! are yet to fully return, so you'll have many of the the famous sites - such as the historic town of Pocitelj and outdoor adventure options on the Una River - virtually to yourself. War may have scarred the country; but things are improving rapidly. This has resulted in a population that will welcome you for the simple fact that you've come to enjoy the wonders of their amazing country.
