Finland Quick Travel Guide
With a travel rating of 64%, Finland tends to be the least visited of all the Scandinavian countries. Located about as far north as you can get, it remains locked in the grip of winter's cold embrace for many long months of the year. However, when it comes to a travel option, it offers one of the warmest and friendliest destinations in all of Europe. This is especially evident during the summer months, when the entire country seems to stand up, stretch and embrace life with a vigor that is truly impressive. This is perhaps most evident at the annual Wife Carrying Championships, an event that normally gets some type of airplay on the local news, no matter where in the world you might be. Lake Saimma in the vast Finnish Lake District offers endless waterways to explore gorgeous scenery and countless outdoor activities. Then, of course, you have a variety of cultural options, such as the impressive fortress of Suomenlinna and Old Rauma, both of which provide a glimpse into Finland's unique Nordic history. But no trip to Finland could ever be complete without a visit to Santa Clause Village, where you can feel like a child again - at least for the day. So, no matter what time of the year you choose to come, there are things to see and fun to be had!
