Kosovo Quick Travel Guide
With a travel rating of 40%, Kosovo has had quite a tumultuous history. However, now that Kosovo has been granted semi-recognized status in the UN (still disputed by Serbia), things seem to be finally getting back on track. In reality, anyone who comes here will probably be amazed by how tranquil the place is - especially if you're familiar with the horror stories of genocide that emerged following the Kosovo War of the late 1990's. Today the country is trying to move forward from the dark times and embrace the future. The undisputed highlight of any trip to Kosovo is the wondrous countryside, which offers a range of activities from trekking through the Mount Ðeravica region, to white water rafting the White Drin River. But no trip to Kosovo could ever be complete without stopping to admire the network of UNESCO-listed medieval monuments, which thankfully did not sustain too much damage during the war. Overall, the light has definitely started to shine once more on Kosovo, which bodes well for a bright future.
