Serbia Quick Travel Guide
With a travel rating of 46%, Serbia is well and truly back on its feet after suffering through some very tough years in the 1990s. Today, the place has seemingly gained a second wind and begun to market itself as one of those "must visit" locations on the Eastern European backpacker's circuit. Its popularity seems to be growing exponentially, which is easy to understand when you consider the amazing mixture of all those things that seem to draw PlanetHoppers! like a magnet. The top of this list has to include the EXIT festival, one of Europe's coolest music festivals, where you can sway to a long list of local and internationally recognized artists. There is also Ðavolja Varoš, which is comprised of over 200 separate rock formations that provide the perfect backdrop for exploring (just make sure to keep your bearings or it could be a long night!). But not to be outdone, there are also a variety of cultural sites, including the Kalemegdan Citadel and Temple of Saint Sava. All in all, it's easy to see how Serbia has transformed a painful past into a hopeful and appealing future.
