Guam Quick Travel Guide
With a travel rating of 44%, Guam is Oceania's version of Hawaii, a neat little package that contains all the main elements that PlanetHoppers! seek for a fun-filled holiday. Occupied during WWII by the Japanese, and the site of heavy fighting, it is now home to a large U.S. base; but is perhaps best known as a tourist Mecca with a unique blend of Micronesian, Spanish, Asian, and Western influences. Guam is all about leisure and pleasure. In addition to its many beaches, duty free shopping, and an exciting nightlife, the islands boasts some of the best scuba diving and snorkeling in the Pacific, underwater parks and submarine tours, sunset dinner cruises, kayaking, jet skiing, parasailing, sky diving... oh, and several world-class golf courses. Some highlights include the fabulous Coco Palm Garden Beach, Ypao Beach Park, and Ritidian Point, considered as the best beach on Guam. Two Lovers Point – where legend has it two lovers jumped to their deaths – offers spectacular views of Tumon Bay. Fish Eye Marine Park is a great spot to walk through an underwater observatory and then dive into the waters to swim with fish themselves. Get Pa'go Cultural Village is a fascinating peek at the native Chamoorro culture located on the picturesque shores of Inalahan Bay. To burn some calories, become a "Boonie Stomper", by hiking through a variety of locations, such mountains, caves, beaches, waterfalls and important WWII sites. Cap the day off by watching a golden sunset over Tumon Bay as you dine on a sumptuous meal. Remember, Guam is all about leisure and pleasure.
