Salar de Uyuni
Breathe in the pungent aroma of Bolivia's Salar de Uyuni, the world's largest salt flat covering over 10,000 square meters. Initially, you may think that this would be a barren and inhospitable landscape (which in some ways it is), but it's also the home to a surprising array of wildlife that includes pink flamingos, who use it as a primary breeding ground. One of the best ways to experience the wonders of this unique environment is to camp out on the salt where, if the night is clear, the moon will illuminate the ground in a pure silver glow. It's absolutely stunning and needs to be seen to be believed!
