Pass through the portals of the Falkland Islands' Whalebone Arch in Stanley and utter a heart-felt "God Save the Queen"! This interesting monument was constructed from the jawbones of two blue whales to commemorate the centenary of British rule on the islands. Since that time, the monument has been through a lot, not least of which was the Falklands War of 1982. But amazingly, it still stands as a landmark to Queen and country as it no doubt will continue to do so for many years to come.
