Admire the traditional skills of the gaucho (cowboy) during Montevideo, Uruguay's Gaucho Festival, one of the largest festivals of its kind in all of the Americas. Each year during the second week in March thousands gather to dress up in traditional gaucho garb, watch rodeos, and parades and listen to folklore music. It's an amazing opportunity to observe a way of life that is slowly fading away into history and provides the entire family with a huge range of fun activities that you just don't get to do every day. It's easy to understand why it's Uruguay's most popular festival.
